Hanspeter Karl, Pentera: To mitigate cyberattacks, Pentest is now a must to have !

Dring ITSA 2022, Pentera presented the new features of its platform which includes, among other things, the "Credential Exposure" module which allows you to know if stolen identifiers are likely to allow a hacker to break into the IS. Hanspeter Karl, Area Vice President for DACH at Pentera explains that to mitigate cyberattacks, penetration testing is now a must to have !
Global Security Mag: What are you presenting at ITSA this year?
Hanspeter Karl: We are presenting our platform which includes new use cases. One of our modules is “Credential Exposure”. It allows you to know if stolen identifiers are likely to allow a hacker to break into the IS.
It is very important to be connected with our prospects and customers especially since the COVID.
Global Security Mag: What are the strengths of your solution?
Hanspeter Karl: We do penetration testing in a production environment. Our solution does this live without attack simulation. Our tools are non-intrusive and it is completely safe. To give you an example, we are able to carry out a ransomware attack including data encryption and all the steps taken by a hacker to find out if the tools deployed by their company are effective.
Global Security Mag: What is your marketing strategy in Germany?
Hanspeter Karl: Germany is one of the most important markets for us. We have 15 employees in Germany. We work with partners and VARs and we want to be as close as possible to our end customers. Thus, we have support, pre-sales in German.
Global Security Mag: What is your message to our readers?
Hanspeter Karl: the penetration test is now a must to have and should be repeated, assessed in a regular basis, to make sure to discover the security flaws of the IS. Remediation is also needed, and Pentera helps ensure that the remediation is effective.
