NATO’s investigation into an apparent breach of its systems that saw documents leaked online is further evidence of the extent to which these major global institutions are under a constant barrage of attacks and persistent threat of malicious activity.
Even when money is not the main goal, incidents from politically motivated threat actors have the potential to seriously compromise the operations of these organisations.
It’s further evidence of the need for major institutions to continue to work together to reduce their risk exposure and strengthen their abilities to detect and respond to attacks. In this way they can be well prepared to warn off any further attempts to gain unauthorised access to critical systems.
